We conduct annual research into the residential construction industry, the State of the Residential Construction Industry (SORCI) research. From 2026 this research also returns a personalised analysis and valuation to each participant.
To produce that analysis we collect information about you and about your building company. This includes contact details, information about how your company operates, and detailed financial information about the business, including revenue, profitability, expenses, borrowings and what the owner draws from the business.
We use this information for two purposes:
Aggregate findings from the research are published. They appear in the annual State of Residential Construction Industry Report, in our marketing and advertising, and in material our partners use to promote the research. Only industry-wide, aggregated results are published. Your individual answers are never published, and no individual company is identified in any published material.
We do not share your responses, your report or your valuation with our partners. Our partners help promote the research and use the published report, which contains industry-wide aggregate findings only.
We also use aggregated research data internally for training, research, and the continued development of our programs and services.
If you complete the research, we may contact you about your report and about the products and services we offer. You can opt out of that contact at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or by emailing hello@apbbuilders.com.
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.
We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment Gateway Provider’s database only to be accessible by those authorised with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.
After a transaction, your payment card details are not stored on our servers. They are held by our payment gateway provider.
We store financial information about your building company where we need it to deliver the services you have asked us for. This includes information you provide through the SORCI research and financial documents you share with us as part of coaching. It is held on access-controlled systems operated by the service providers described in this policy.
We would like to send you information about products and services of ours which may be of interest to you. If you have consented to receive marketing, you may opt out at a later date. We keep your information only for as long as it is warranted to fulfil our commitments to you, or to adhere to legal or regulatory requirements.
If you are a customer or partner, we keep the information for the duration of our relationship. Certain information may be kept for longer though, for instance contracts will be archived even when terminated.
If you have requested to receive marketing communications, we will keep your personal information only for as long as you interact with us.
Where you have taken part in the SORCI research, we keep the answers you provided and the report generated from them for as long as we need them to support you on your report, to answer questions about how your result was produced, and to compare your results year on year. When we no longer need them for those purposes, we delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner by emailing hello@apbbuilders.com. Results that have already been combined into published industry-wide figures cannot be separated back out.

When we use these tools, the personal information involved (such as your name, contact details and the content of your communications with us) may be processed by the AI service providers that operate them, including Anthropic, ElevenLabs and Fathom. AI tools assist our team. Decisions that have a significant effect on you, such as those relating to billing, contracts or the services we provide, are made by our people and not solely by automated means.

We use recordings and transcripts for record keeping, quality assurance, training and to follow up on the matters discussed. Where a call or meeting is being recorded, we will tell you at the start. Recordings and transcripts are processed by the service providers described in this policy and are held in accordance with it.
We take photographs and make video and audio recordings at the events we run, including workshops, retreats, the APB Summit, client dinners and live presentation events. We use them to record the event, to promote APB and our future events, and in our marketing material, on our website, on social media, in email campaigns and in our publications.
Photographs and recordings that identify you are personal information, and we handle them in accordance with this policy. Your consent to being photographed and recorded is covered by our Terms and Conditions, which you agree to when you register for an event.
If you would rather not appear, tell any member of our team before or during the event and we will take reasonable steps to exclude you. We use trusted third-party platforms, including Facebook, Google Ads, HubSpot and Google Workspace, to help us manage customer relationships, store documents and deliver relevant advertising. HubSpot is the platform behind our forms and our customer relationship management system. Information you submit through any form on our websites, including the SORCI research, is stored there.
