I’m Jim Schneider, the founder of Schneider Construction LLC, a small design-build firm based in Cape Charles, Virginia. I've been running this business for over 40 years, but before working with APB, I found myself stuck in a pattern of reacting instead of leading.
We had systems, but they weren’t truly organized or strategic. The financial side of the business was messy, and profitability just wasn’t where it should have been. I tried working with consultants over the years, some helped, others didn’t. It wasn’t until I picked APB back up that things really started to change.
I had been a member once before but didn’t make use of it. About three years ago, I dove back in, and I realized quickly, I didn’t have the time not to use it.
APB became my one-stop shop for learning and applying new systems. Through their Business Coaching and the Construction Slot© planner in particular, I finally felt like I had a cockpit to control the business instead of chasing fires.
Since implementing the APB systems and action plans, our revenue has tripled and our net profit has quadrupled. I can plan operations with clarity, avoid schedule chaos, and most importantly, make informed decisions.
The standout benefit? Coaching and accountability. Having someone to not only provide resources but guide you through them, 1-on-1, made all the difference. Even with hundreds of members, APB makes me feel like I’m the only one.
Today, I don’t just work in the business. I run it. I don’t have a job with my name on the door, I own a company with a future.
“Imagine a coaching team that deals with every builder in the world, and then is sharing that knowledge with you. There is your APB value if you ask me.”
“It's been really nice to associate yourself with people that truly do care, and networking at events with other like-minded people helps to inspire each other to hit that next level, and going next level is exactly what it is.”
"I was hitting 70 hours a week… working almost seven days a week, with no end in sight."
